Naós Kos: Meet The Founder, Grace
‘‘Naós Studio changed the entire landscape for wellness in Kos and the Greek Islands…’’
When it opened four years ago in Kardamena, and it continues to lead the way for holistic bodywork and facials. Here, we meet the founder: certified and licensed massage and skin therapist, Grace.
Grace arrived in Kos in 2017 for the first time to work the summer season after having worked for many years in luxury, 5-star boutique hotels in England and the French Alps. She returned the following summer to establish a now well-known beach spa in Kardamena, where she remained for three seasons.
However, after over a decade in the industry, Grace found herself at a crossroads. She noticed that the quality and standards of care provided in busy hotel spas often fall short of providing a truly healing experience. Exhausted by the "factory" pace of corporate wellness, she was just about to give up on the industry for good.
But her local clients and her partner saw something she hadn't yet fully embraced. They urged her to work for herself, and that was the moment the seed was planted. Grace decided to move in a new direction, going solo and starting her own business built on the high-integrity values she still holds today.
After finding the perfect space in the heart of the village, the shift began. Grace found herself in totally new waters, stepping out of her comfort zone altogether. Yet, it was in this space of total independence that the true vision for Naós was born.
Free from the rigid protocols and time constraints of corporate spas, Grace began to weave her decade of high-end experience into a deeper, more intuitive approach to healing. She realized that guests weren't just looking for a "massage" - they were seeking to be seen, to be held in a quiet space, and to have their nervous systems truly regulated.
What started as a step into the complete unknown has evolved into a sanctuary of somatic excellence. Today, Grace combines advanced, science-backed techniques with the sacred flow of holistic rituals. Whether she is performing a transformative buccal facial or a somatic body ritual, her work is grounded in the belief that true wellness requires time, presence, and a connection that goes far beneath the skin.
Fourteen years into her journey, Grace remains a student of the body and a guardian of the "slow wellness" movement in Kos. At Naós, she hasn't just built a business; she has created a home for those seeking a high-integrity, restorative experience that honours the body’s innate wisdom.
“Naós was born from a desire to bring the 'sacred' back into the treatment room,” Grace says. “It’s about moving away from the noise and returning to the ritual.”
